TCMB Turkey Daily FX Rates Scraper

Scrape daily foreign exchange rates published by the Central Bank of Turkey, for any date, up to a million rows per run. Each row returns the currency code, unit, buying and selling rates, and the effective date. No API key required. Export to CSV, JSON, Excel, or XML.

The Central Bank of Turkey publishes official daily FX rates, but downloading them manually means visiting a page, picking a date, and copying a table. This Actor reads the TCMB daily exchange rate feed directly, so you get a clean dataset for any date you choose. It works for today's rates or any historical date the bank has published, and you control how many currency pairs to collect.

Who uses it What they scrape TCMB Turkey for
Financial analysts Pull the official daily FX rates for Turkish Lira conversions into their models.
E-commerce pricing teams Update product prices in TRY based on the Central Bank's daily selling rate.
Accounting departments Fetch the exact historical rate for invoice reconciliation on a given date.
Data journalists Track the Turkish Lira's movement against major currencies over time.

What it does

This Actor collects daily foreign exchange rates from the Central Bank of Turkey for a specified date and returns each currency as a flat row with its code, unit, buying rate, and selling rate.

  • 📅 Specific date or today: set a YYYY-MM-DD date to get historical rates, or leave it empty to collect the latest published rates.
  • 🔢 Controlled volume: limit the number of exchange rates returned per run, from a single currency up to a million rows.
  • 📊 Consistent schema: every row delivers the currency code, unit, Forex buying and selling rates, and the effective date in a fixed format.

Results export to CSV, JSON, Excel, or XML, or straight from the API.

Troubleshooting

Why am I getting no results?

The Central Bank of Turkey does not publish rates on weekends and Turkish public holidays. Try a different date, or leave the date field empty to get the latest available rates.

The run failed with an error.

Check that the date is in YYYY-MM-DD format. An invalid format will cause the Actor to fail. Also confirm the date is not in the far future, as the bank only publishes past and current rates.

I only got a few currencies, but I expected more.

The maxItems input caps the number of rates returned. Increase it to a higher number, or set it to a large value like 1000 to ensure you collect every currency the bank published that day.

The rates look different from what I see on another website.

Other sites may show delayed or interbank rates. This Actor returns the official daily rates from the Central Bank of Turkey. Confirm the date matches and that you are comparing the same rate type (buying vs. selling).

FAQ

Question Answer
What currencies does this scraper return? It returns all foreign exchange rates the Central Bank of Turkey publishes for the given date. The bank's daily list typically includes major currencies like USD, EUR, and GBP, as well as many others, each with its own unit and buying and selling rates.
Can I get rates for a past date? Yes. Set the date input to any YYYY-MM-DD value that the Central Bank has published. If the bank's feed does not have data for that date, the run will return an empty dataset.
What happens if I leave the date field empty? The Actor fetches the most recent daily rates available from the Central Bank of Turkey, which is usually today's rates if published.
Does this Actor use the official TCMB API? It reads the same public data feed that the Central Bank of Turkey provides on its website. You do not need to register for an API key or handle authentication.
What is the difference between the buying and selling rate? The Forex buying rate is the price at which the Central Bank buys a foreign currency. The Forex selling rate is the price at which it sells. Both are included in each row.
How many exchange rates can I collect in one run? You control this with the maxItems input. Set it to 1 for a single currency, or up to 1,000,000 to collect the full list the bank publishes that day.
Can I schedule this Actor to run daily? Yes. Use Apify's scheduler to run the Actor every morning and store the latest rates in a dataset or send them to a webhook.
What output formats are supported? You can export your dataset to CSV, JSON, Excel, or XML from the Apify console or via the API.
Does the Actor handle Turkish public holidays? The Central Bank does not publish FX rates on Turkish public holidays. If you request a date with no data, the run completes but returns an empty dataset.
Is the currency code in ISO 4217 format? The Actor returns the currency code exactly as the Central Bank of Turkey publishes it, which follows the ISO 4217 standard.
