Overview

Hyperliquid Perp Funding Scraper

Scrape Hyperliquid perpetual funding rates for any coin, up to a million records per run. Every record includes the coin symbol, funding rate, premium, and timestamp. Export to CSV, JSON, Excel, or XML.

Hyperliquid's perpetual futures use a funding rate mechanism that shifts capital between longs and shorts every hour. Tracking these rates manually across dozens of coins is slow and error-prone. This Actor reads the public funding history directly and returns each record in one fixed schema, ready for analysis.

Who uses it What they scrape Hyperliquid for
Quantitative traders Backtest funding-rate arbitrage strategies across multiple coins.
Market analysts Spot which coins are paying the highest funding premiums this week.
Risk managers Monitor funding rate spikes that signal crowded long or short positioning.
Crypto researchers Build a time-series dataset of funding rates for academic or on-chain studies.

What it does

This Actor collects Hyperliquid perpetual funding rate records by coin symbol and returns each one as a flat row.

  • ๐Ÿช™ Coin filter: pass a comma-separated list of symbols like BTC,ETH,SOL to collect only the coins you care about.
  • ๐Ÿ“Š Flat row output: every record lands in your dataset with the same predictable fields, no nested JSON to unpack.
  • โšก One API call per run: the Actor hits the public Hyperliquid info endpoint once and streams the results straight to storage.
  • ๐Ÿ“ˆ Up to a million records: set maxItems to pull a full historical window in a single run.

Results export to CSV, JSON, Excel, or XML, or straight from the API.

What you can do with Hyperliquid data

๐Ÿ“ˆ Backtest funding-rate strategies.

A quant trader pulls six months of hourly funding rates for BTC and ETH, joins them with price data, and simulates a delta-neutral carry trade.

๐Ÿ” Screen for high-premium coins.

A market analyst runs the Actor each morning with a watchlist of 30 altcoins and flags any coin whose funding rate exceeds a threshold.

โš ๏ธ Detect positioning extremes.

A risk manager monitors funding rates across the top 20 perps and receives an alert when a rate spikes above the 95th percentile.

๐Ÿ“Š Build a research dataset.

A PhD student collects a year of funding history for all listed coins and studies the relationship between funding and volatility.

Why choose this scraper

What you get
No API key required Reads the same public endpoint your browser hits, so there is nothing to register or rotate.
Fixed flat schema Every run returns the same columns, which means your downstream scripts and dashboards never break.
Coin-level filtering Pull funding rates for one coin or a watchlist without downloading the entire exchange state.
Hourly granularity Funding updates every hour on Hyperliquid; this Actor captures each one as a discrete record.

How it compares

No other Store actor targets Hyperliquid the same way, so the honest comparison is with the alternatives teams actually weigh.

Configure the run

Drive the Actor with an optional coin filter and a maximum record count, and filtering runs before data reaches your dataset so you only pay for the rows you keep. The Input tab lists every parameter.

A first run with the defaults:

{
  "maxItems": 10
}

A larger pull:

{
  "maxItems": 200
}

Pricing

Pay-per-result: $0.0085 per result collected. You pay only for the results written to your dataset.

Results collected Approximate cost
100 results $0.85
1,000 results $8.50
10,000 results $85.00

New Apify accounts start with $5 in free credit.

Free users

Free-plan runs return up to 10 results as a preview. Upgrade your Apify plan to collect up to 1,000,000 results per run.

Run it

  1. Create a free Apify account with $5 in credit.
  2. Open the Hyperliquid Perp Funding Scraper.
  3. Set your inputs and any filters, then click Start.
  4. Export the results as CSV, Excel, JSON, or XML from the Dataset tab.

Run it programmatically through the Apify API (run-sync-get-dataset-items) or the ApifyClient for JavaScript and Python.

Use with AI agents (MCP)

Give an AI agent live access to Hyperliquid through the Model Context Protocol. Add the Actor to Claude, Cursor, or any MCP client:

claude mcp add --transport http apify "https://mcp.apify.com?tools=parseforge/hyperliquid-perp-funding-scraper"

Then prompt it in plain language to run the scraper and read back the results.

Troubleshooting

Why am I getting fewer records than I asked for?

The public endpoint may only return a limited window of funding history. Lower your maxItems or check whether Hyperliquid has published more data since your last run.

Why is my coin filter returning no results?

Check that the symbol is spelled exactly as Hyperliquid lists it (uppercase, no hyphens). Run the Actor once without a filter to see the exact symbols available.

The run failed with a timeout.

Requesting a very large maxItems value can cause the run to exceed the default timeout. Increase the run timeout in the Actor's settings or reduce maxItems.

Why do I see duplicate records?

If you run the Actor multiple times over overlapping time windows, the same funding events may appear in each run. Deduplicate on the timestamp and coin symbol in your downstream pipeline.

The data looks stale.

Funding rates update every hour on Hyperliquid. If your run falls between updates, you will see the most recently closed funding window. Schedule the run a few minutes after each hour.

FAQ

Question Answer
What is a Hyperliquid funding rate? It is a periodic payment exchanged between long and short perpetual futures traders to keep the contract price close to the spot price. On Hyperliquid, funding updates every hour.
Do I need a Hyperliquid account or API key? No. This Actor reads the public info endpoint that does not require authentication. You can run it without signing up for Hyperliquid.
How many records can I pull in one run? You set the limit with the maxItems field, up to 1,000,000 records. The Actor stops once it reaches that count.
Can I filter by specific coins? Yes. Use the coinFilter field with a comma-separated list of symbols like BTC,ETH,SOL. Leave it empty to collect funding rates for all available coins.
How often does the data update? Hyperliquid updates funding rates every hour. Run the Actor on a schedule to capture each new funding window as it closes.
What format does the output come in? The Actor returns a flat dataset you can export as CSV, JSON, Excel, or XML from the Apify platform.
Does this Actor scrape historical funding rates? It collects whatever funding records Hyperliquid's public endpoint returns at the time of the run. The depth of history depends on what the endpoint serves.
Can I run this on a schedule? Yes. Apify supports scheduled runs. Set it to run hourly, daily, or on any cron expression you need.
Is this an official Hyperliquid tool? No. This is a third-party Actor built by ParseForge that reads publicly available data. It is not affiliated with Hyperliquid Labs.
What coins are available? Any perpetual contract listed on Hyperliquid with an active funding rate. Run the Actor without a coin filter first to see the full list.
