Guild Wars 2 Items Scraper

Scrape Guild Wars 2 item data for any item ID, in five languages, without API keys. Pull names, descriptions, and full details for market analysis, wiki projects, or collection tracking.

The official Guild Wars 2 API requires an API key and has rate limits, slowing down bulk collection of the item catalog. This scraper reads public item data directly, so you can pull details by specific item IDs or stream the entire known catalog. Every returned item is flattened into one consistent row, perfect for spreadsheets and databases.

Who uses it What they scrape Guild Wars 2 for
Market analysts Monitor supply and demand trends for materials, skins, and gear in the Trading Post.
Wiki maintainers Populate and update item databases with localized names and descriptions across five languages.
Guild leaders and community managers Build loot tables and reward checklists from the complete item catalog for events.
Collectors and completionists Track acquisition progress for miniatures, weapon skins, and rare items by ID.

What it does

This Actor collects Guild Wars 2 item details by ID or catalog walk, and returns each item as a flat row with its name, description, and full data payload.

  • ๐ŸŽฏ Targeted IDs: Provide a list of exact item IDs and get back only those records, fast.
  • ๐Ÿ“š Full catalog walk: Omit the ID list and the scraper increments through all known items from ID 1 upward.
  • ๐ŸŒ Multi-language output: Fetch names and descriptions in English, Spanish, German, French, or Chinese with one setting.
  • ๐Ÿ“ฆ Flat row output: Each item arrives as a single flat object, clean for CSV, JSON, Excel, or XML export.

Results export to CSV, JSON, Excel, or XML, or straight from the API.

What you can do with Guild Wars 2 data

๐Ÿ“ˆ Analyze market supply and demand.

A market analyst pulls the latest stats for popular crafting materials and skins to spot pricing trends before the next patch.

๐Ÿ“– Build and maintain an item wiki.

A wiki editor scrapes the complete item catalog in German and French to populate missing translations for an EU fan wiki.

๐ŸŽฎ Create loot tables for community events.

A guild officer captures every rare weapon skin ID, then filters them into a checklist for a server-wide scavenger hunt.

๐Ÿ† Track personal collection completion.

A completionist fetches all miniature and finisher IDs to cross-reference with their account and plan the next purchase.

How it compares

No other Store actor targets Guild Wars 2 the same way, so the honest comparison is with the alternatives teams actually weigh.

Configure the run

Drive the Actor with a list of specific item IDs, or leave the list empty to walk the full catalog from start to finish. The language selector and maxItems limit are applied as the run progresses so only matching items land in your dataset. The Input tab lists every parameter.

A first run with the defaults:

{
  "itemIds": [],
  "maxItems": 10
}

A larger pull:

{
  "itemIds": [],
  "maxItems": 200
}

Pricing

Pay-per-result: $0.021 per result collected. You pay only for the results written to your dataset.

Results collected Approximate cost
100 results $2.10
1,000 results $21.00
10,000 results $210.00

New Apify accounts start with $5 in free credit.

Free users

Free-plan runs return up to 10 results as a preview. Upgrade your Apify plan to collect up to 1,000,000 results per run.

Run it

  1. Create a free Apify account with $5 in credit.
  2. Open the Guild Wars 2 Items Scraper.
  3. Set your inputs and any filters, then click Start.
  4. Export the results as CSV, Excel, JSON, or XML from the Dataset tab.

Run it programmatically through the Apify API (run-sync-get-dataset-items) or the ApifyClient for JavaScript and Python.

Use with AI agents (MCP)

Give an AI agent live access to Guild Wars 2 through the Model Context Protocol. Add the Actor to Claude, Cursor, or any MCP client:

claude mcp add --transport http apify "https://mcp.apify.com?tools=parseforge/guildwars2-items-scraper"

Then prompt it in plain language to run the scraper and read back the results.

Troubleshooting

Why can I only collect 10 items?

Free accounts are limited to 10 items as a preview. Upgrade to a paid Apify plan to raise the maxItems limit up to 1,000,000.

I entered a valid item ID but got no data.

Some ID ranges are empty or reserved. Try a known valid ID like 24 (a basic salvage kit) to confirm the Actor is working, then check your ID list.

The run is slow when walking the full catalog.

Each item requires one network request. Use a list of specific IDs to speed things up, or set maxItems to a smaller batch and resume later.

Some Chinese characters show up as question marks in my CSV.

Open the CSV in a modern editor that supports UTF-8 encoding, or export to JSON or Excel, which preserve the Unicode characters natively.

FAQ

Question Answer
Do I need a Guild Wars 2 API key? No. This Actor scrapes the public item feeds directly and does not require any account registration or API key.
How many items can I scrape in one run? Free users can scrape up to 10 items per run as a preview. Paid users can collect up to 1,000,000 items per run.
Can I get item names in French or Spanish? Yes, the language selector supports English, Spanish, German, French, and Chinese. The names and descriptions will be returned in your chosen language.
What if I only want a few specific items? Add their IDs to the 'Specific Item IDs' list. The Actor will fetch only those and ignore the rest.
How do I scrape the entire item catalog? Leave the item IDs field empty and set maxItems to a high number. The Actor will start at ID 1 and walk upward until it hits your limit.
What fields are returned for each item? The dataset includes the localized name, description, item type flags, rarity, and all raw metadata returned by the official feed, flattened into one row.
Can I export the scraped items to Excel? Yes. Like all Apify Actors, you can export your results to CSV, JSON, Excel, or XML from your dataset tab.
Does this get Trading Post prices? This Actor collects the static item definition data. For live Trading Post prices, a separate commerce scraper would be needed.
