Overview

ParseForge

Coinpaprika Coins List Scraper

Scrape the full Coinpaprika coin directory, from a handful of assets up to one million per run. Every coin returns its name, symbol, rank, type, and activity status in one flat row. Export to CSV, JSON, Excel, or XML.

Building a crypto watchlist or researching asset universes means you need a clean, filterable list of coins and tokens. Coinpaprika's web views work for browsing one page, but they do not give you a batch export you can feed to a database or a spreadsheet. This Actor reads the public coin listing directly, lets you narrow by type, symbol, or status, and hands you a structured dataset you own.

Who uses it What they scrape Coinpaprika for
Crypto data engineers Build an internal reference table of all known coins and tokens for a dashboard or data warehouse.
Market researchers Identify newly listed assets or filter the universe by coin vs. token for a sector report.
Traders and bot builders Pull a daily list of active trading symbols to seed a screener or a trading bot.

What it does

This Actor collects coin entries from Coinpaprika and returns each one as a flat row with its name, symbol, rank, type, and activity status.

  • โš™๏ธ Type filter: choose coins, tokens, or both in a single run.
  • ๐Ÿ†• New-only switch: collect assets that were recently listed on Coinpaprika.
  • ๐Ÿ”ค Symbol contains: narrow to coins whose ticker symbol matches a partial string like BTC or DOGE.
  • ๐Ÿ“Š Active-only toggle: exclude inactive or dead projects from your dataset.
  • ๐Ÿ”ข Row cap: set a ceiling from 1 to 1,000,000 rows so the run finishes on budget.

Results export to CSV, JSON, Excel, or XML, or straight from the API.

What you can do with Coinpaprika data

๐Ÿ“‹ Build a coin universe table.

A data engineer runs the Actor weekly with activeOnly=true, collects every known active asset, and feeds the flat CSV into a PostgreSQL reference table that powers a portfolio dashboard.

๐Ÿช™ Separate coins from tokens.

A researcher selects coinType=coin, sets maxItems high, and downloads a list of native blockchains to cross-reference against a DeFi TVL dataset.

๐Ÿ†• Spot new listings.

A trader toggles newOnly on, scrapes every freshly listed asset, and filters the output for trending symbols to evaluate early entry opportunities.

Why choose this scraper

What you get
Public directory, no API key Reads the coin listing that is already public; you do not register an app or manage rate limits.
Filter before you store Type, active, new, and symbol filters run as the Actor collects, so you pay only for rows you keep.
Fixed flat schema Outputs the same columns every run: name, symbol, rank, type, and active status.
Any volume, one Actor Works for a pocket list of 10 coins or a full universe crawl up to a million entries.

How it compares

This Actor concentrates on the coin directory and gives you row-level filters before storage, while the other Coinpaprika scrapers target different endpoints like tickers or global stats.

Configure the run

Drive the Actor with a maximum row count, then narrow results by asset type, active status, newly listed flag, or a ticker symbol substring before any row hits your dataset. The Input tab lists every parameter.

A first run with the defaults:

{
 "maxItems": 10
}

A larger pull:

{
 "maxItems": 200
}

Pricing

Pay-per-result: $0.0085 per result collected. You pay only for the results written to your dataset.

Results collected Approximate cost
100 results $0.85
1,000 results $8.50
10,000 results $85.00

New Apify accounts start with $5 in free credit.

Free users

Free-plan runs return up to 10 results as a preview. Upgrade your Apify plan to collect up to 1,000,000 results per run.

Run it

  1. Create a free Apify account with $5 in credit.
  2. Open the Coinpaprika Coins List Scraper.
  3. Set your inputs and any filters, then click Start.
  4. Export the results as CSV, Excel, JSON, or XML from the Dataset tab.

Run it programmatically through the Apify API (run-sync-get-dataset-items) or the ApifyClient for JavaScript and Python.

Use with AI agents (MCP)

Give an AI agent live access to Coinpaprika through the Model Context Protocol. Add the Actor to Claude, Cursor, or any MCP client:

claude mcp add --transport http apify "https://mcp.apify.com?tools=parseforge/coinpaprika-coins-scraper"

Then prompt it in plain language to run the scraper and read back the results.

Troubleshooting

Why is my run returning zero results?

Check your filters. If you set symbolContains to a string that matches no ticker, or you ticked newOnly when there are no recent listings, the result set will be empty. Try widening the filters or running without newOnly first.

I got fewer rows than I set in maxItems.

maxItems is a ceiling, not a guaranteed count. If the active filters match fewer coins on Coinpaprika than your maxItems value, you will receive only those matching coins.

The Actor timed out.

Large crawls near the million-row limit can take time. Raise the run timeout in the Apify actor settings, or reduce maxItems to a smaller batch and paginate across multiple runs.

I do not see a price column in the output.

This Actor scrapes the coin directory, not live tickers. It provides name, symbol, rank, type, and status. For price data, use a dedicated market price actor.

FAQ

Question Answer
Do I need a Coinpaprika API key? No. The Actor reads the public coin listing, so you do not need an API key, an app registration, or any authentication.
How many coins can I scrape in one run? You set the maxItems from 1 up to 1,000,000. The practical ceiling depends on Coinpaprika's current coin count, but the Actor handles large crawls.
What data fields does each row contain? Every row returns the coin name, ticker symbol, Coinpaprika rank, asset type (coin or token), and whether it is active or newly listed.
Does this Actor get live prices or market caps? No. This Actor scrapes the coin directory listing. It does not collect price, volume, market cap, or chart data. Use a dedicated ticker scraper for that.
Can I filter by a specific ticker symbol? Yes. Use the symbolContains field to match a substring like ETH or BTC, and the Actor returns only coins whose symbol matches.
What export formats are supported? The Apify platform exports your dataset to CSV, JSON, Excel, XML, and several other formats. The Actor stores the raw data and you pick the format on the dataset tab.
How do I get only active coins? Tick the activeOnly checkbox in the input. The Actor will skip any coin that Coinpaprika does not mark as active.
Does this Actor work with Coinpaprika's global market stats? No. This Actor focuses on the coin directory. Global stats, exchange data, and individual coin detail pages are out of scope.
Can I update my data on a schedule? Yes. Use an Apify schedule to run the Actor daily or weekly with the same input. Each run produces a fresh dataset you can compare to the previous run.
